Objectives of CETH
To achieve the vision, mission and purpose of CETH; the main of objectives of the
CETH are as follows:
1. Be an international collaborative center of excellence in the study and research of Thrombosis & Hemostasis that embrace innovative research strategies with continuous quality improvement in outcomes;
2. Conduct and promote new and innovative research studies in relation to the diagnosis, management and therapy of Thrombosis & Hemostasis;
3. Develop and conduct Thrombosis & Hemostasis research studies, using cutting-edge, innovative, interactive, and multidisciplinary approaches that include but not limited to the following research programs:
a. Thrombosis & Hemostasis Functional Genomics and Proteomics Research Program
b. Thrombosis & Hemostasis Clinical Trial Research Program
c. Thrombosis & Hemostasis Nanotechnology/Biotechnology Research Program
d. Thrombosis & Hemostasis Biomarkers and Pharmacogenomics Research Program
e. Thrombosis & Hemostasis Stem Cell Research Program
f. Thrombosis & Hemostasis Transfusion Research Program
g. Thrombosis & Hemostasis Core Research Program
4. Foster a culture of multidisciplinary collaboration between researchers and research groups within KSU’s different faculties, as well as with other national and international universities, research centers, biotechnology industry and the community.
5. Capitalize on the rich intellectual diversity of the academic staff and scientists in health sciences at KSU and Saudi Arabia.
6. Facilitate the translation, transfer and real life application of research findings that enhance the quality of life of patients with or at high risk of thrombosis.
7. Provide state-of-the-art education opportunities for medical and allied health sciences students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and visiting scientists in the various domains of thrombosis research programs.
8. Develop and promote advanced professional training programs and research offerings to the learning needs in relation to thrombosis diagnosis, management and therapy in Saudi Arabia.
9. Help building an expanding cadre of health educators, biomedical scientists, and other specialists in the field of Thrombosis and Hemostasis research and biotechnology.
10. Promote collaboration and partnerships between KSU and public and private healthcare providers in relation to Thromboembolic complications care.
11. Participate in the transfer of biotechnology to Saudi Arabia and support biotechnology industrial links and protection of intellectual property and discovery.
12. Building on our inherent strengths and capabilities to develop CETHR that will distinguish KSU among the leading national and international universities.
13. To serve as a consultative resource for the studies of thrombosis information and training needed by health care communities in Saudi Arabia.
14. To increase the awareness about thrombosis among:
a. Health care professionals including primary and subspecialty physicians, nurses, nutritionist and other healthcare workers
b. Public and private healthcare providers
c. Legislators and governmental agencies
d. General population
15. Provide expert consultants or committee membership to both national and international agencies, as well as biotechnology industries engaged in thromboembolic complications care and research development.
16. Provide a socioeconomic perspective to the Center activity.
